So why do I have a blog again?

OK, I’ll admit it.  While I’ve been busy, I’ve certainly not been too busy to post.  Why, you ask?  Well, (sheepish grin) I truly forgot.  Forgot all about it.  I have a blog?  Oh, yeah, that thing.  So guiltily, I post.  No picture (haven’t taken any of those lately either), and really no news.  OK, well there’s this.  When you get a chance, go through your stash and all those extra pattern books and needles you don’t use anymore, and contact one of the lovely people at the Restash Network and pack it up and send it on.  Their goal (and an admirable one it is) is to create a network to gather, prepare, and send out yarn and knitting items to folks who have lost their stash due to Hurricane Katrina or other major disasters.  The items are also going to people in shelters who are learning to knit.  I find this to be a cause near and dear to my heart, because what knitter wouldn’t be devastated not only to lose her stash, but have nothing to knit when there’s nowhere to go?  So we dug through tonight, and though my stash wasn’t very big to start with (yeah, right), it’s a bit smaller now, and I have lots of spare needles, since I use my interchangeables for just about everything these days.

Still on the needles - Donna.  Her front and back are done now, and she just needs sleeves and sewing.  But sewing is evil - and a pain.  And I really need to sew her at least partway up so I can see how long the sleeves need to be.  So, of course, I cast on some socks.  Koigu.  Need I say more?  Just a basic pair, but the yarn is so soft and pretty that it’s so wonderful to knit.  Like, say, chocolate.  Or as one LYS owner put it, crack for knitters.  My friend Tricia calls it my sock crack, and says I’m a junkie.  I can’t argue with that one!

Have a great week!  I promise I’ll try to post again a little sooner next time.  Really.  Cross my heart and hope to crochet.
