Mounds of UFO’s

Those are UnFinished Objects for anyone who didn’t know. I can’t seem to wrap my brain around finishing anything - not sure if it’s the holidays (our calendar went from nearly blank to almost completely full for December 2 days ago), old age (birthday 3 days ago, but not mentioning the age), general feeling crappy-ness, or what. Probably a combination of all of the above.

I’ve been taking some new meds that “promise” to help me have less pain and more energy. So far I think a notice maybe a 2% improvement, and one night last week I actually had a “Wow, I feel good!” moment. It didn’t last. I’m just very tired, and have been doing way more reading than knitting, but just can’t really seem to focus on anything for any amount of time. I also have a good bit of “brain fog”. Supposedly it’s either disease or medication-related. All I know is I’ll walk in a room and back out, and not have done the thing I went in the room for. Numerous times per day. It’s getting more than a little frustrating!

UFO’s at last count:
1. Mark’s sweater vest - I’m up to the armholes. You know, the one he can’t remember. He asked me the other night about the sleeves. Maybe I’m not the only one with brain fog!
2. Holly’s purse - Felted, and dots made, but not sewn on. I’m just not feeling the love on this one. I have about a week to make up my mind.
3. STR socks in Central Air pattern - about 1/2″ done on first sock. It’s not a hard pattern, but does require attention and focus, so I’ve been ignoring it.
4. Trekking socks in 107 (Christmas-y colors) - halfway through the cuff on the first sock. I needed something boring - 2×2 rib.
5. Lotus Blossom Tank - ugh. I did get to hold it up to Deb and see how much further to go before I break for armholes. But that’s it.
6. ArtFibers sweater for me - working on the back above the armholes. Haven’t picked it up in weeks.
7. Leaf Lace shawl in alpaca - no further than I was a month ago.
8. Lace Wing socks in Fixation - found this in the basket the other day, I haven’t touched them in months. I probably have no idea where I even am, and will need to rip out 1/2 a sock to start over.
9. One last small knitting project I promised - well, I’ve picked up the yarn at the store. I guess that’s a start!

What’s really bad is that I just want to start up new projects, not finish up existing ones. I don’t dare - this is the highest number of UFO’s I’ve EVER had, and I can see a snowball effect coming on if I start one more thing!
