Fabulous husband and great yarn – I’m a lucky girl!

My wonderful husband whisked me off for a weekend away in Murphy, NC – a tiny little town in the mountains of Western NC, where we would like to live one day.  No kids, just us.  We found a cute B & B, and spent Saturday wandering around the tiny town.  And if that wasn’t enough, he found a moose store (I’m a moose fanatic), and 2 yarn stores!  We visited Yarn Circle in Brasstown and A Good Yarn in Hayesville.  Both great stores with lots of cool stuff!  I bought some Addis (for my Donna sweater) and some gorgeous mohair at Yarn Circle, and some yarn for a scarf for Mark and some Crystal Palace Iceland for a Market Squares Bag at A Good Yarn.  I have so many future projects piling up, it’s getting a little overwhelming!  We also visited 2 yarn shops in Asheville on the way back – Yarn Paradise and Purl’s Yarn Emporium.  Believe it or not, I bought nothing, though I was given free rein.  I guess in my mind my project list can only extend so far!

We also visited the John C. Campbell Folk School, and I would love to go back and take a class some day.  The campus was beautiful, their offerings are really cool, and they have a great craft shop as well.  All in all, we had a great trip!  I worked on my sweater a bit on the way down, and played with a picot edge for Tricia’s socks on the way back.  Gotta go – tons of knitting to get done!
