Seeing double

Due to an unexpected day at home with a sick child yesterday, I made major progress on River Rapids sock #2. And tonight, I finished it! I love this pattern. The only thing I changed (unknowingly until I got to sock #2) was that I slipped the heel stitches as if to knit instead of purl, and I got this super cool diamond effect. Yes, I’m easily amused. Oh – and ignore the color on the heel picture, just focus on the cool pattern. Photoshop Diva I am not.
Still haven’t done anything with swatching for the Olympic bag, since that will require actual focus, so I’ve started (finally) a pair of socks for Mark with the sock yarn he loved, but was discontinued, and required major effort on my part to acquire (probably 6+ months ago). I did make him a shift knob cozy with some of it, so it hasn’t been ignored, just not used to its fullest potential. Plus, I should have major knitting time tomorrow between Hayley’s gymnastics and Knit Night, and I want something I can only halfway pay attention to. Maybe this weekend I can devote some real time to learning how this entrelac thing works. Yeah, right.
