Here I was at home (on a Monday, no less – thank you Memorial Day!), innocently reading email and contemplating a blog post, when I just happened to look at my own blog (I don’t do that much!), and I saw a comment on my latest post from JanKnitz – I’ve been tagged with 7 Random Facts!

Here are my 7 random facts about me:
1. I’m big on grammar and spelling.  You might even call me the Grammar Police, and things like typos drive me nuts, though I’m guilty on occasion.  I have passed this trait on to my children, and we had a great time at a local Italian restaurant the other night picking on their new menus.  And at the Chinese restaurant – look out!

2. I have an unhealthy obsession with moose.  You may think they’re huge, unwieldly, sloppy creatures, but I think they’re cute.  Really.  I have quite a collection of them, both at home and at work, and people tend to give me moose ornaments and stuffed moose toys for no particular reason.  Now if I could just find a way to harvest their fur and make yarn out of it!

3. I live in a house with a bathroom that has been undergoing construction/remodeling for 12 years this weekend.  At this point it’s only lacking a door, a closet door, closet shelves, baseboard, and trim painting.  I don’t anticipate its completion any time soon.

4. My favorite movie of all time is Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.  Yes, I know it’s cheesy, and that’s what I love about it.

5. I love to read.  As a child I would check out 20+ books from the library every week, and I was rarely seen without my nose in a book.  I still check out several per week (and the librarian always gives me a hard time about it!), but often they are knitting books, as my knitting severely cuts into my reading time these days.

6. I have been married 17 years – nearly half of my life, and have 2 girls, 16 and almost 12.  Most of my friends are younger, and have younger kids or no kids at all yet, which often makes me feel old, until I remember how young I was when I started.  It’s cool to be 37 and realize that in only 6 more years my youngest will leave (yes, she will leave, no local colleges for MY kids!) for college, and it will be just me and hubby.  Since we only had 6 months or so of “just us” when we were first married, I’m really looking forward to it one day!

7. I love the mountains, and hope to live in the western NC mountains one day, in an isolated mountain cabin with a stream running through the back yard. (Can you tell I’ve thought a lot about that one?)

2. Find pieces to enlarge a bracelet per my sister’s request.
3. Buy some groceries – we’re hungry!
4. Buy a neti pot – after watching Dr. Oz on Oprah, Mark insists that H and I need one.
5. Buy Mark some pants for his NEW JOB! (More on that later!)
6. Pay some bills.
