Kim beat me to it with more than the vague idea I was going to wave around about picking up stitches and making a lace panel.

Ok - socks first. I love the Lorna's. I love the color and think it would be perfect. On to the sweater - if you look ip soleil on Ravelry, someone felt the same way and picked up sts and added a little lace panel. It was very pretty - might consider that, but I don't remember who it was anymore. As for me - will be home in about an hour.

I'd say either the Lorna's or the Mama E for the socks.

And you could do a couple of rounds of single crochet, or knit a small inset (lace or no) to fill in. Either way would work.

Ok, I have opinions and I'm reading -- so there!!!

1. On the socks: I say Gold Hill or the Fleece Artist one.

2. The sweater, I have the solution -- a FAUX cami. Yes, I'm suggesting a dicky of sorts. You need only knit an inset of lace and attach (better if you use a solid color in your sweater) and it doesn't even have to be that big OR you can go to the fabric store and add a wee bit of stretchy lace to the same spot. Unless you think it really needs to be longer -- I'd use an inset of sorts. Or the answer I'd wear, --- yup, a cami (one with a built in bra, so it really isn't an extra layer -- but that's me.

If you have to rip and start over, wear khakis with the dark orange shirt.
