Birthday blogging

So I was feeling all sorry for myself this morning, having a little birthday pity party, since Mark is gone and it didn’t really feel like a birthday. None of the girls remembered this morning that it was my birthday. Not that I much blame them, as several times today I turned to the calendar to check the date. Plus, in their defense, they are SO not morning people. Again, I totally understand. So I got to work, and dragged in to my office, only to find a sweet message from my honey, telling me Happy Birthday. That perked me up a bit. Shortly thereafter, one of Hayley’s teachers, a good friend, brought me flowers and a balloon from his family. OK, more perking! A little while later, Sarah showed up in my office with a present. It may be the cutest thing ever. And while I frequently overuse that phrase, this time it’s really true.
It’s a moose nativity scene! Leave it to Sarah to find me something with both moose and sheep:
And the baby Jesus moose – well, you know what I would say about him.
Later on, Kim came traipsing in to go to lunch with Sarah and me, and brought more goodies – Opal sock yarn (in her words – “so stinkin’ soft”) and the Harmony Guides Lace and Eyelets book! Yippee! The day just got better and better!
So here’s the birthday haul, if you’re keeping count. The sweater, neck pillow/warmer thing, and Origins Ginger Gloss bath stuff (my fav!) are from Mom. Happy birthday to me!
I’m off to order in some dinner (certainly not cooking tonight!), and snuggle up with my heated neck pillow and a good stitch dictionary.
